122 Orphans In Gedeh Get Food, Cash

ZWEDRU, July 27 (LINA) - The Government of Liberia in collaboration with the World Food Program (WFP) has started an Ebola response operation distributing food and cash to 122 orphans across Grand Gedeh County.
The head of the distribution, to which ADRA serves as implementing partner, and Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection official, Wallace Barway said beneficiaries were identified, assessed and listed under the program by ADRA field agents.
Barway, who is supervisor of child protection and welfare section of the Ministry of Gender in Zwedru, named Gbau, Bhai, Tchien and Putu as administrative districts where field agents saw the plight of the orphans and listed them under the response distribution.
The exact number and quantity of the supply being distributed, which include cereal, pulses, vegetable oil, super cereal and salt, was not disclosed nor was the amount of money per child.
The distribution which began at the weekend will last for two days while supplies for orphans in distant areas like Putu, Zleh Town and other areas will be carried near the beneficiaries for guardians to pick up.
