Muslims Praised For Peace, Stability Prayers

MONROVIA, July 17 (LINA) - President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has commended Muslims for successfully ending the month of Ramadan and praying for continued peace, stability and prosperity for the country and its people.

She also implored them to remain mutually and sacredly engaged as “we work together for the greater good of Liberia in spite of our difference as a people.”

According to an Executive Mansion release, the Liberian leader made the assertion when she addressed Muslims at the end of the holy month of Ramadan on Friday, July 17.

Applauding Muslims for successfully concluding the Ramadan, one of the fundamental pillars in the Islamic faith, the Liberian leader said: “It is with great humility and sacred joy that I congratulate you for the strength to successfully conclude the Eid al-Fitr.”

She thanked all Muslims for keeping the nation in their prayers during those challenging moments of the last 30 days of fast, isolation and intimate supplications to the Creator, Allah.

President Sirleaf noted that all Liberians are grateful for their commitment to relentlessly put forth to Allah the country’s numerous challenges – thus asking for His wisdom and guidance to lead and protect this nation.

She called on Allah to “graciously remain the source of our strength, courage, devotion, love for country and renewal of a commitment to be torchbearers of peace and unity.”
