By Chris T Nyenapee, LINA Grand Gedeh County Correspondent

ZWEDRU, July 9 (LINA) - Grand Gedeh County Chief Education Officer (CEO), Rev. Harrison Darwolor, has said efforts are underway to ensure that the new educational policy announced by the Ministry of Education is followed to ensure improvement in the county’s educational system.

Making the statement to the Liberia News Agency after a consultative stakeholders meeting held in Zwedru recently, Darwolor noted the county’s local education office is in total support of this new policy and wants parents to cooperate for the general good of the system.

He reaffirmed that all schools in the county will be closed July 31 and reopened on September 7, 2015 for the next academic school year as indicated by Education Minister George Werner contrary to rumors of an immediate closure by elements in some quarters.

Darwolor revealed that the local education office has begun impromptu visitations of schools to ensure compliance as anyone caught in violation will be punished.
