38 Health Facilities Get Africare Support In Bong

By Philip T. Singbah, LINA Bong County Correspondent

GBARNGA, July 4 (LINA) –The head of Bong County Heath Team, Dr. Samson Arzoaquoi, has lauded Africare Liberia for its immense support to 38 clinics across the county, as well as the Outpatient Departments of the Phebe and C.B Dunbar Hospitals.

Dr. Arzoaquoi said as part of its support to the county health system, Africare has also renovated several clinics, including the Dekei Clinic in Fuamah District and has provided motorcycles, drugs and incentives for support staff of those clinics.

He made the statement at the official dedication of Africare seventh maternal waiting home at the Handii Clinic in Handii Thursday.

The Bong County Health Team official said the team cherishes Africare’s support to the county’s health system and will continue to work with the organization to meet the health needs of the people.

He described the maternal homes as great achievement in the fight against maternal death in the county, adding, “These maternal waiting homes have further enhanced access to health delivery in the county.”

Dr. Arzoaquoi called on community residents to support the center by taking their pregnant women to the clinics before delivery to reduce maternal mortality in the county.
