TUBMANBURG, June 27 (LINA) - Bomi County Superintendent Samuel Brown has commended the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) for donating several bags of rice and corn seeds to farmers in the county.
Superintendent Brown, who did not state the total bags of rice and corn seeds, said the donation will motivate farmers to get more involved in agricultural activities and boost the sector in the county.
He made the comment in an interview with the Liberia News Agency at his office in Tubmanburg recently.
Brown observed that with the involvement of farmers into farming activities this year and the provision of seeds by MOA, the county will expect a big rice and corn harvest this year compared to previous years.
He disclosed that the MoA will deploy its coordinators in the county to monitor farmers that will receive consignment of rice and corn seeds to ensure full cooperation and implementation.
The Bomi County Supt. then urged districts commissioners, clan and general town chiefs to get involved to ensure farmers use the donation for the intendeed purpose.
