DEA Bassa Branch Burns Over L$216k Narcotic Drugs

BUCHANAN, June 27 (LINA) -The Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Grand Bassa County Detachment has burnt narcotic drugs arrested from traffickers and dealers in the Own Your Own Community in Buchanan, the capital of the county.

The event was in observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Drug Trafficking held Friday in Buchanan.

During the exercise that was witnessed by county officials, and security agencies including Police, Immigration, Natio9nal security Agency, Fire Service and citizens, over 200 kg of marijuana, 120 grams of heroin and 10 grams of cocaine were set ablaze.

According to DEA Bassa Detachment Commander, Major Joe Taggedine, the street market value of the drugs is estimated at LD261,000, and were arrested in Buchanan and other districts in Grand Bassa County.
