Pres. Sirleaf Makes Additional Appointments In Government

MONROVIA, June 26 (LINA) - President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has made additional appointments in Government affecting the Ministries of Transport, Commerce and Industry, Information, Culture and Tourism as well as the Liberia Airport Authority and the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company.

These appointments are subject to confirmation by the Senate where applicable.

Those appointed are Ms. Jaunita Traub-Bropleh, Deputy Minister for Lands and Rail, Ministry of Transport; Ms.  Ellen O. Pratt, Deputy Minister for Industry and Inspector General, Ministry of Commerce and Industry; Mr. W. Bako Freeman, Managing Director, Liberia Airport Authority;  Mr. Willard Russell, Member of the Board of Directors, Liberia Petroleum Refining Company  (replacing Mr. Emmanuel Bowier) and Ms. Clarice Jah, Member of the Board of Directors, Liberia Petroleum Refining Company(replacing Ms. Nohn Kidau).

 According to an Executive Mansion release, at the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism those appointed include Lynne George Cassell, Assistant Minister, Administration; Jacqueline Capehart, Assistant Minister, Tourism; Wellington Geevon Smith, Assistant Minister, Information Services and Albert Jaja, Minister Counselor, Press and Public Affairs, Liberia Embassy, London, England.

Meanwhile, the following positions Deputy Minister Technical Services and Deputy Minister Culture and Tourism, created by the President, are being dissolved. 

The release also noted that Deputy Ministers Robert Kpadeh and Elizabeth E. Hoff are being considered for possible reassignments and roles consistent with their expertise.
