Klay District Commissioner Requests SDF Released To County
By David Pamas Seedee, LINA Bomi County Correspondent
TUBMANBURG, June 23 (LINA) - Klay District Commissioner Alfred Zinnah is appealing to government to provide to Bomi County its Social Development Fund (SDF) to carry out development projects in the county.
Commissioner Zinnah said the provision of such fund will enable districts and township commissioners implement projects earmarked in their areas.
Making the appeal in an interview with the Liberia News Agency in Klay recently, Zinnah disclosed that some of the projects earmarked at the County Council Sitting more than a year ago have not been implemented due to lack of fund.
He named some of the projects as the Klay Health Center in Klay Town, the Mannah Clan Junior High School in Mannah Clan, and teachers’ quarters, among others.
The Klay District Commissioner told LINA that the allotment of funds to implement these projects was made in consultation with chiefs and elders of districts across the county.
Zinnah said due to the delay in the implementation of the projects, citizens of the districts are accusing the local authorities of receiving the fund from government for the projects but are failing to implement them.
He believed that if the projects are fully completed, it will bring relief to the people of the county.
