Sinje Public High School Yearns For Qualified Teachers

By D. Ignatius Roberts/LINA Grand Cape Mount County Correspondent

ROBERTSPORT, June 18 (LINA) - The Principal of Sinje Public High School in Garwula District, Grand Cape Mount County, Momo Gray, is appealing to the Ministry of Education to assign qualified teachers to the school to ensure a brighter future for the students.

Gray told the Liberia News Agency (LINA) recently on the school campus in Sinje that the lack of trained teachers is hampering the learning process of the young people.

He said the school has 20 teachers and only seven hold degrees from the William V.S. Tubman Teacher College at the University of Liberia, while the others obtained “B” and “C” certificates from the Kakata and Zorzor Rural Teacher Training Institutes.

He said the rest of the teachers are students from the college in Sinje who are studying various disciplines that are not related to the field of education.
