3 Persons Under Probe For Importing Dead Body From Guinea
By Korboi K Gbelewala, LINA Lofa County Correspondent
VOINJAMA, June 18 (LINA) - The Liberia National Police Lofa County Detachment is investigating three persons for allegedly bringing into Kubomai Town, Voinjama District, Lofa County, a dead body from neighboring Guinea.
Making the disclosure to the Liberia News Agency in Kubomai Town Wednesday, Lofa County Attorney J. Luther Sumo said the body was brought into the town on June 16 by the three persons whose names are withheld and was buried the same day.
Sumo said the action by the police is predicated upon the increase in Ebola cases in neighboring Guinea and Sierra Leone and transporting dead bodies from any of these countries to Liberia is worrisome.
He cautioned Lofians to be mindful about how they interact with sick people and dead bodies to avoid the recurrence of the Ebola virus in the county.
The Lofa County Attorney wants officers of the county’s joint security to remain vigilant at their various posts in order to keep the county safe.
He urged citizens to continue to provide information about unusual happenings in their respective towns and villages, especially towns and villages with porous borders where some of these unusual activities usually take place.
The three suspects are expected to be sent to the Voinjama Magisterial Court for prosecution, the police said.
