Gbarpolu Elects New PMC Leaders

By Emmanuel Mondaye, LINA Gbarpolu County Correspondent

BOPOLU, June 10 (LINA) - Delegates from the political districts of Gbarpolu County have elected three individuals to steer the affairs of the county’s Project Management Committee (PMC) for the next two years.

Sam Zennah from Belleh District was elected Chairman; Varmah Moore of Bopolu District, Comptroller; and Peter Yassiah of Gou-Nwolala District, Treasurer.

The election follows the end of the two-year tenure of the former administration.

Moore was the only serving official on the PMC to be re-elected.

The PMC oversees the implementation of projects earmarked by the county from funds under the County Development Fund (CDF) and the Social Development Fund (SDF).

The CDF receives US$200,000 annually from the National Budget while the SDF comprises monies given by concessionaires in a county for development as part of their corporate social responsibility.
