By David Pamas Seedee, LINA Bomi County Correspondent
TUBMANBURG, June 10 (LINA) - The Widow Farmers Association of Klay District in Bomi County is appealing to the Ministry of Agriculture, international partners and agriculture-related organizations to assist the association with farming tools.
Executive Coordinator Ophelia Quaye said if farming tools are provided the widows they will get totally engaged in agriculture activities.“The widows are willing to get back to the soil to help make the county self-sufficient in food production.”
Making the call in an interview with the Liberia News Agency in Klay District Wednesday, Quaye said the women were affected by the Ebola outbreak which took the lives of their husbands, leaving them to cater to their families.
She named rain boots, shovels, hoes, cutlasses, water cans, gloves, among others, as some of the basic materials needed by the widows.
