Robertsport Gets First Corps Of City Police

By D. Ignatius Roberts, Grand Cape Mount County Correspondent

ROBERTSPORT, Feb 18 (LINA) - The Mayor of the Robertsport City Corporation (RCC) in Grand Cape Mount County, James Kiazolu, has said since the founding of the city in the 1800s, his administration is the only one to organize a police force for the city.

He said the establishment of a city police in the county was done in close collaboration with the county administration and related agencies in the country.

Mayor Kiazolu made the statement at the weekend at his office in Robertsport in an interview with the Liberia News Agency Grand Cape Mount County correspondent.

He said the formation of the city police is intended to buttress the efforts of the Liberia National Police (LNP) and other national security agencies assigned in the county to provide security for residents.

Mayor Kiazolu observed that it will be impossible to implement city ordinances in the absence of the city police.

The Robertsport City Mayor is, meanwhile, appealing to residents to respect the ordinances and cooperate with the city police so that, together, they can work to promote sanitation, health and beautification of the city.
