Sinoe County Prepared For Independence Celebrations, Supt Assures

GREENVILLE, June 7 (LINA) – Sinoe County Superintendent Thomas Romeo Quioh has assured that the county is fully prepared to host this year’s independence celebrations.

He said though some independence projects are yet to be completed, projects earmarked for the celebrations will be ready before July 15. He named the Presidential Palace, Executive Lodge and the James E. Green Sports Stadium in Greenville as projects expected to be dedicated during the 168th Independence Celebrations this year.

In an interview with reporters in Greenville recently, Superintendent Quioh stressed that all is now set for a successful celebration in the county.

In a related development, Sinoe County’s only referral hospital, Francis Juah Grante Memorial Hospital in the provincial capital Greenville, is expected to undergo major rehabilitation ahead of the July 26 celebrations.

According to the County Health Officer, Dr. Wilmot Frank, the initiative is being funded by the World Bank through the Ministry of Health. He said the project including the fencing of the facility, will be implemented by UNOPS by next summer.

At the same time, Dr. Frank has disclosed that citizens of Bokon Jaedea will soon benefit from a modern clinic. Though Dr. Frank did not say when construction work on the clinic is expected to commence, it will be constructed in the county’s mineral rich zone, Government Camp, which currently hosts over 12,000 residents comprising nationals of over seven African countries.
