Storm Renders Over 200 Homeless In Cape Mount

By D.Ignatius Roberts, LINA Grand Cape Mount Count Correspondent

ROBERTSPORT, June 1 (LINA) - A rainstorm has rendered more than 200 persons homeless in four of the five districts in Grand Cape Mount County.

One of the victims, Zoe Sheriff, told the Liberia News Agency that the storm damaged houses in Commonwealth, Tewor, Gola Konneh and Garwula districts.

Zoe said because of the destruction of their homes, some of the victims are living with friends and relatives while others were sleeping under palava huts in the affected districts.

She explained that because of low financial income, most of the victims are unable to carry out quick renovation of their damaged homes.

She is calling on the government, Red Cross and the international community to help them rebuild their homes.
