BUCHANAN, May 31 (LINA) -The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Liberia, Francis S. Korkpor, has praised the free, fair and transparent nature of the Liberian National Bar Association (LNBA) elections held in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County.

Speaking Saturday before the pronouncement of the results, Chief Justice Korkpor said if any contestant loses the elections, they should do so gracefully and congratulate the winners.

Cllr. G. Moses Paygar won the presidency, while Cllrs. Tiawon Gongloe and Lavela Koiboi Johnson came second and third respectively in the race

Chief Justice Korkpor congratulated the outgoing president, Cllr Theophilus Gould, for his efforts in raising the standard of the Bar.

“Mr. President, as you are leaving office, there is soon to be installed into office another leadership, but let me register that under your leadership, the Bar has taken one giant step up and that is good,” Korkpor said.

Justice Korkpor also noted that as he listened to candidates’ speeches on where they want to take the Bar, he was “very impressed.”
