Official Raises Red Flag Over Mushrooming Border Posts
By Korboi Gbelewala, Lofa County Correspondent

VOINJAMA, Feb 17 (LINA) -The Chief of Operation of the National Security Agency (NSA) Lofa County detachment, Wellington Duwoko, has alarmed that there are more than 30 crossing-points between Lofa County and neighboring Guinea and Sierra Leone.

Mr. Duwoko said these illegal crossing points cannot be manned only by officers
of the Liberia National Police, the Bureau of Immigration and Naturalization and officers of other para-military agencies adding, "it also requires the full participation of the citizens and community.”

Mr. Duwoko made the disclosure at the weekend in an interview with the Liberia News Agency at his Joint Security check-point office in Voinjama city, Lofa County.

He urged the citizens and other youth groups to fully get involved in efforts to help to promote border protection, especially during the upcoming mid-term senatorial election in the country.

He said this could help curtail illegal entry of aliens into Liberia until the election is held.

Meanwhile, Duwoko has admonished Lofians, especially the youths, to report to the police and other security personnel any strange movements of people wanting to illegally enter the county.
