Batekwa Decries State Of Sasstown High School

By Hilary Vasco Wiagbe

MONROVIA, May 20 (LINA) - Grand Kru County Representative Numene Batekwa has decried the current deplorable state of the Sasstown High School in Jlao Statutory District, Grand Kru County.

Representative Batekwa told Legislative Reporters Tuesday that the roof of the structure housing the school is completely damaged, constraining students to sit in the rain or sun to take lessons.

Batekwa stressed the need for the Ministry of Education to take prompt action to recondition the school as the rainy season approaches.

He expressed fear that the health of the students would be at risk if attention is not given the school now.

In another development, Batekjwa has disclosed that the construction of a US$68,000 health center is underway in Parluken District, Grand Kru County by the Government.

He expressed optimism that when completed, the center will boost the healthcare delivery system in the county and bring relief to the people.

The Representative has also lauded efforts of the international charities Samaritan’s Purse, Partners In Health and Caritas for their contributions to the Grand Kru County health sector.
