Gbarpolu Religious Leaders Asked To Help In Community Policing

BOPOLU, May 12 (LINA) – Gbarpolu County Deputy Police Commander Julius Sackie has appealed to religious leaders in the county to assist government and its partners in community policing programs to tackle crimes.
Sackie made the statement Monday during program marking the initiation ceremony of 24 officersof the Knight of St. Augustine Commandry No. 809 held at the Catholic Church’s edifice in Central Bopolu.
He challenged them to teach and talk about crime prevention to their followers in making the county a safe, free and conducive place to live.
According to him, the LNP in collaboration with UNMIL will conduct series of workshops for citizens to have an understanding of crime prevention and the right of the citizens to arrest anyone coming into conflict with the law.
Gbarpolu citizens at the program were seeing holding different banners bearing messages of crime prevention.
