Gbarpolu Probate Court Finally Reopens
By Emmanuel Mondaye, LINA Gbarpolu County Correspondent
BOPOLU, May 4 (LINA) - The Gbarpolu County Monthly and Probate Court, which was dormant for a year, has finally reopened to the public.
In an interview with the Liberia News Agency (LINA) in Bopolu over the weekend, Clerk of Court Joseph Kakara said the court is now probating land deeds and other legal documents from across the county.
Kakara said after these legal documents are processed by the court, they are transferred to the Center for National Documents and Records (CNDR) for registration.
He indicated that while at CNDR, the legal documents, including land deeds, marriage certificates, lease agreements, registration of divorce letters and bachelor and spinsterhood certificates, will be processed for easy retrieval by owners.
He admonished citizens of the county to take advantage of the Probate Court to process their legal documents instead of traveling to Monrovia, noting that it is costly and time consuming.
