Commissioner Charged With Negligent Homicide In Bassa

By Johnson Bobby Liway, LINA Grand Bassa County Correspondent

BUCHANAN, May 2 (LINA) - The Liberia National Police Grand Bassa County detachment has charged the Commissioner of the New City Township in District Number 1, Lawrence Haynes, with negligent homicide.

Making the disclosure to the Liberia News Agency in Buchanan Friday, the LNP Superintendent in Bassa, Frederick Nepay, said Commissioner Haynes was charged for allegedly killing 51 year-old Toe Tarplah, a resident of the township.

Nepay said the Commissioner shot the late Tarplah with a single barrel gun in the forest few weeks ago, mistaking him for an animal where he had set his trap.

Haynes was charged by the police following a thorough investigation and has been forwarded to court for prosecution.
