Pres. Sirleaf Hails Togo On 55th Independence Anniversary

MONROVIA, April 27 (LINA) - President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has sent a message of congratulations to the Government and People of the Republic of Togo on the occasion marking the 55thIndependence Day of that country.

In the message to the Togolese President, Mr. Faure Essozimna Gnassingbe, President Sirleaf extended sincere felicitations to the Government and People of Togo on behalf of the Government and People of Liberia and in her own name.

The Liberian leader hoped that the two countries will continue to work together to strengthen ties, friendship and cooperation and prayed that the Almighty God will continue to endow President Gnassingbe with wisdom and strength to lead his compatriots to greater prosperity.

A Ministry of Foreign Affairs release reflects that Liberia and Togo work together in the spirit of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), African Union (AU), and United Nations (UN) aimed at fostering peace, security and economic integration.
