Taylor Wants Liberians Keep Focus In Challenging Times

By Ballah M. Kollie, LINA

MONROVIA, April 24 (LINA) - Bong County Senator Jewel Taylor has emphasized the need for Liberians to recharge their energies and contribute positively to efforts by government to transform existing challenges into gains.

“What is needed to solve the problems of our day is patience, a listening ear, a vision to transfer and a desire to be an agent of change,” Senator Taylor told the Liberian Community in Metropolitan Boston at its 4th Inauguration and Awards Gala program recently.

Delivering the keynote address, the Senator noted that though Liberia faces numerous challenges, complaining and casting blame will never change the situation, adding, “What changes things for the better is becoming the change you want to see in others.

She briefed the Liberian community on the devastating effects of the Ebola pandemic which, she said, affected the entire fabric of the nation and the future of its people.

“Unless you were there during this difficult time, there are no words to describe the

situation,” Taylor added.

She challenged citizens at home and abroad to devise formulas that will break barriers and allow a new wave to take hold and transform the country today for a better tomorrow.

Senator Taylor urged the new leadership of the Liberian Community in Boston to strive and leave a positive legacy for future leaderships to emulate.
