TUBMANBURG, April 23 (LINA) - Feed the Farmers Initiatives, a non-governmental organization (NGO), has donated assorted agriculture tools and seed rice to farmers in Tehr Distict, Bomi County.
In an interview with the Liberia News Agency on Wednesday in Tehr District, the Farmers Supervisor of the organization, Mohammed Sando said the items included hoes, cutlasses, axes, rain boots and 150 bags of seed rice.
Sando said the donation will enable the farmers to begin farming as soon as possible during this farming season.
He said 85 farmers who previously appealed to the organization were the beneficiaries, while over 75 farmers have also requested for agriculture tools and seed rice.
Sando said the tools were made available by German Agro based on the request made by the organization and noted that the seed rice came from members of Feed the Farmers Initiatives.
He named some of the clans from which farmers benefited as Mannah and Tehr where major farming activities are currently underway.
He urged the farmers to use the seed rice for its intended purpose and not for consumption.
