Judge Sando Urges Lawyers To Respect Time

By D. Ignatius Roberts, Grand Cape Mount County Correspondent

ROBERTSPORT, Feb 10 (LINA)- The Assigned Judge of the Fifth Judicial Circuit Court in Robertsport, Grand Cape Mount County, William B. Sando, Jr, has admonished lawyers to respect time because the prolongation of cases will not be accepted.

Judge Sando sounded the warning Monday during the official opening of the February Term of Court in Robertsport

He said the unnecessary delay in the adjudication of cases by lawyers has resulted in the flooding of the court’s docket, noting that this will not be allowed.

He also cautioned court officers to refrain from vices such as receiving bribes in the process of performing their duties, noting that this damages the image of the court.

Judge Sando also advised magistrates to submit quarterly reports to his office, and warned that any magistrate who fails to submit a report would be dealt with.

The Fifth Judicial Circuit Judge has meanwhile urged complainants to follow up their cases in court so that they can provide evidence against those they want prosecuted.

He said there are 11 cases on the court’s docket, including three cases of theft of property, two cases of misapplication of entrusted property, unlawful possession of narcotic drugs with the intent to sell and criminal facilitation, two rape cases, burglary, criminal facilitation, hindering law enforcement and bail jumping.
