Phebe Medical Director Wants Hospital Renovated

B  Solomon N Giddings, LINA Bong County Correspondent

GBARNGA, April 14 (LINA) - Phebe Hospital Medical Director Dr. Jefferson Sibly is appealing to government, local and international partners to help renovate the hospital to meet its pre-war status.

Dr. Sibly told the Liberia News agency Monday that the hospital currently lacks water and sewage system to serve patients and workers, noting that this was a major hindrance in the provision of quality service.

He said though the administration of the hospital has managed to construct mini- reservoirs to ensure water supply, the reservoirs cannot provide water to meet the demand of the hospital; adding, “Phebe needs a 24-hour water and sewage system.”

Dr. Sibly pointed out that the sanitary condition of the Hospital is not up to standard and that the administration does not have the capacity to rehabilitate the system.

Sibly noted that because Phebe is both a referral hospital and medical institution for intern nurses from across the country, there is a need for the government and partners to speedily come to the aid of the hospital to improve the quality of service.
