Several Appear In Court For Various Crimes

BOPOLU, FEBRUARY 10 (LINA) - Five persons have been arrested by the Gbarpolu County Police Detachment and sent to the Gbarpolu Magisterial Court for stealing over LD$60,000.00 and US$360.00.

Court record revealed that the five, namely, Philip Moore, Jr, Moili Comah Kanneh, Jeremiah Dorley, Dunnah Siryon and Victor Nyombu, were arrested on February 9 after they entered the home of complainant Philip Moore, Sr., in the Dark Forest Community and made away with the
money.

The men, who are charged with the crime of Theft of Property, were able to produce LD$8,905 and US$110.00 after being pressed by police investigators.

The court record also disclosed that the defendants willfully and illegally entered complainant Moore's house with the intent to steal and kill and as such, they were charged with the commission of the crime of Theft of Property.

At the same time, two others, T-Boy and Catherine Boimah who were also part of the theft are on the run, while efforts are being made by police to have them arrested and prosecuted for their involvement in the theft.

In a related development, a Nigerian National, Tony Alygwo, aged 31, along with two Liberians are expected to stand trial for being in possession of illegal drug substances.

Tony who is in detention, was on April 7, 2013, arrested in Gbarpolu County with Italian White valued at US$10,000, while Bien Flomo and Abraham Sumo were also apprehended during the same period for being in possession of Marijuana.
