Bong Official Lauds AFL Soldiers for Clean-up
By Ballah M. Kollie, Bong County Correspondent

GBARNGA, Feb 11 (LINA) - Bong County Assistant Superintendent for Development Anthony Sheriff, has lauded the Engineering Battalion of the Armed Forces of Liberia for carrying out a clean-up campaign in central Gbarnga.

Soldiers of the Camp Tubman Military Barracks on Monday swept the major streets of the county's political capital Gbarnga, including the old and new Ganta parking stations, as well as Suakoko, Phebe and Sergeant Kollie Town, among others.

The soldiers who refused to speak to the Liberia News Agency Correspondent in the county were dressed in their military attire.

Development Superintendent Sheriff said the initiative by the soldiers was laudable because it serves as a motivation to the youth and sets the stage for others to follow.

"This is a good example that is worth being emulated by every well-meaning citizen of our county," she added, noting that this is one of the ways one can demonstrate patriotism and love for his country.

Monday's exercise is part of activities marking the February 11 Armed Forces Day Celebrations.
