Official Lauds Gov’t For Development in Lofa

By Korboi Gbelewala, Lofa County Correspondent

MONROVIA, Feb 10 (LINA) - Lofa County Land Commissioner Augustine Momo has commended county officials and the Lofa Legislative Caucus for the level of development taking place in the county.

He made specific reference to the rehabilitation of a bridge on the Darbu road in Voinjama district, which he said has brought relief to the people of Darbu Town, by cutting travelling risks and the high cost of transportation.

Momo said since the bridge got damaged in 2006, there has been no attempt to rehabilitate it, thus making it difficult to travel to and from the area.

Commissioner Momo, who is currently on a visit to Monrovia, made the commendation in an exclusive interview with the Liberia News Agency on Sunday in Sinkor.

He noted that the bad road had also placed the health needs of the people at risk, because it was very difficult during the rainy season for vehicles to travel to and from the area.

According to LINA, the bridge was rehabilitated in 2013 by the Ministry of Public Works under the Lofa County Development Fund projects.
