MPW Engineers To Oversee ASRP Projects In S/E Liberia

ZWEDRU, March 25 (LINA) - The Ministry of Public Works engineers deployed in southeastern Liberia have begun monitoring and supervising the Ministry of Agriculture Sector Rehabilitation Projects (ASRP) in four counties in the region.

Speaking in an interview with the Liberia News Agency in Zwedru Tuesday, the Ministry Public Works regional engineer, Pewee Kesselly said the engineers whose assignment began over the weekend are being deployed to Grand Gedeh, Grand Kru, Maryland and River Gee counties.

Kesselly noted that the engineers will monitor and supervise ASRP operations and projects, including the 27 kilometer Zwedru road project, to ensure that they meet the required standards and will report to the County Superintendents regularly.

He told LINA that he has completed orientation of engineer Ophelia Bedell who is assigned to Grand Gedeh to familiarize her with ASRP projects that include the construction of a rice mill, community agriculture office and central warehouse in Zwedru.

Kesselly said it will award road maintenance and street cleaning contracts to engineering firms in the counties and supervise the projects.
