Bridge Construction Starts in Voinjama District

VOINJAMA, Feb 9 (LINA) - Construction work has commenced on a wooden bridge spanning the Vezazea River to link Kpakolomai and Wondowuzo towns in Voinjama District, Lofa County.
According to the Town Chief of Kpakolomai Town, Zubah Korvah, the bridge project valued at L$76,000 is being undertaken by the people of Kpakolomai and Wondowuzo towns.
Mr. Korvah made the disclosure when he addressed citizens of Kpakolomai and Wondowuzu following his return from a meeting with the management of the Keleko and Sons Company, a local construction firm based in Voinjama, Lofa County.
Mr. Korvah said funding for the project was provided by citizens of both towns, as well as some citizens of Zogolemai Township in Voinjama district.
He said several local residents have been recruited to participate in the construction of the bridge to enhance its speedy implementation.
Town Chief Korvah noted that when completed, the bridge will facilitate the free movement of people, goods and services in the area.
Meanwhile, Mr. Korvah has appealed to citizens of both towns to give their full cooperation to the company implementing the bridge project to enable it meet the one month timeline set for its completion.
