Pres. Sirleaf Urges Liberians To Accept Ebola Re-emergence
MONROVIA, March 23 (LINA) -President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf is calling on Liberians to accept the re-emergence of Ebola by an affected female in the Caldwell community after nearly three-weeks without a case.
President Sirleaf said Liberians must accept it because it is the nature of the Ebola disease.
According to an Executive Mansion press release issued in Monrovia, President Sirleaf made the statement on Monday following a guided tour of the John F. Kennedy Medical Center to see, first hand, reconstruction and the upgrading of the facility currently taking place.
“One of the things we have been working with our partners is to make sure that after Ebola we will upgrade all of our hospitals and health centers,” the Liberian leader pointed out.
She urged Liberians to continue to adhere to the preventive measures outlined by health authorities more aggressively.
The Liberian leader thanked God that it is only one person that is being followed by the Incident Management System that is trying to isolate that case so that it does not spread.
“So far, we’re very pleased with their response and the ability to contain the virus,” she emphasized.
