Pres. Sirleaf Applauds Namibia on 25th Independence Anniversary
MONROVIA, Friday, March 20 (LINA) - President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has sent a message of congratulations to the Government and People of Namibia on the occasion marking the 25th Independence Anniversary of that country on March 21.
In her message to her Namibian counterpart, Mr. Hifikepunye Lucas Pohamba, President Sirleaf extended warmest congratulations to the Government and People of Namibia as they observe this historic event, on behalf of the Government and People of Liberia and in her own name.
A Foreign Ministry release Friday said the occasion coincides with the recognition of Mr. Pohamba's extraordinary leadership, as showcased by his winning the world's most valuable individual award, the MO Ibrahim prize for African Leadership.
The Liberian leader than hoped that the bond of friendship subsisting between the two countries and peoples will continue to grow stronger in the years to come as Liberia looks forward to working closely with Namibia for the realization of the ideals and aspirations of their respective peoples.
