32 College Students To Benefit From Scholarships In Nimba

SANNIQUELLIE, March 20 (LINA) - A student organization from District #8 in Nimba County has pledged to provide scholarships to 32 students of the district at the Nimba County Community College (NCCC) worth US$2,500.

LEELOMEINSA, which is based at the NCCC, has already offered 150 scholarships to students from the district over the years with support from citizens and their lawmaker, according to the Liberia News Agency.

The President of the student organization, Prince B.N Quoi, said the recipients of the scholarships are selected each semester based on their Grade Point Average (GPA), making the number of beneficiaries to fluctuate.

Quoi said funds were made available by Representative Larry P. Younquoi of District #8 and some prominent citizens of the area in support of the education scheme.

He indicated that the organization is gender-sensitive in its recruitment exercise, and therefore called on citizens of the district to provide funding for more scholarships to enable the students achieve their career dreams.
