Chief Justice Raps On Pillar Of Independent Environment
By: Ballah M. Kollie, LINA
MONROVIA, March 16 (LINA) – Chief Justice Francis Korkpor has stressed that the strongest pillar for the judicial system is the creation of an independent environment where the respect for law, social justice, equity and human rights are guaranteed.
He said ensuring the institution of a forum where the strong, weak, rich and poor are equal will help to make justice more meaningful and one that will attract the attention of aggrieved parties to seek redress.
“This means that the judiciary should be a place where every aggrieved person should feel free and conformable to come for redress and when they come, they should not be treated on the basis of who or what they are but based on facts and applicable laws of the cases they present,” Korkpor stressed recently at the Temple of Justice.
He noted that after nearly 14 years of bloodbath and 10 years of constant peace in the country, to regain the public trust in the judicial system requires that the judiciary builds an edifice of democracy that will treat everyone equal before the law.
