School Administrators Face Dismissal For Violating MOE Policy

By Wellington G Patrick, LINA Nimba County Corresponde

BAINTONWIN, March 12 (LINA) - Deputy Education Minister for Instruction Hawa Goll Kotchi has vowed to dismiss any school administrator caught violating government’s education policies.

Minister Kotchi noted that one of such policies is the tuition-free scheme for elementary to junior high levels and urged schools administrators not to collect any fees from students or parents for these grades.

She made the comment in Baintonwin Town in District #3 in Nimba County on Wednesday when she dedicated a newly-constructed primary school in the town funded by Global Partnership and the World Bank.

The Ministry of Education official also cautioned the school administrators to refrain from other unethical and unprofessional acts that have the tendency to discourage the students from attending school.

Meanwhile, Madam Kotchi has called on parents of the county not to hesitate to send their children to school; adding “Education is all we need to develop Liberia.”

The Government through the Ministry of Education prior to the opening of school in February this year announced that all public school students from elementary to junior high are not to pay tuition and other fees.
