By John Bropleh, LINA Maryland County Correspondent
HARPER, March 10 (LINA) – The leadership of Grand Kru County has dedicated several development projects funded by the County Development Fund (CDF).
The CDF is an allocation of US$200,000 given annually from the National Budget to each county to fund projects selected by the local authorities.
The projects dedicated include three District Administration Buildings in Geeken, Buah Nyankunpoh, Dorbor and Genoyah in Trehn Statutory District.
Making the disclosure to the Liberia News Agency (LINA) in Barclayville recently, acting Superintendent Augustine Nugba said the county has also constructed a Chiefs Compound in Topoh, outside the City.
Nugba told LINA that the U.N. Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) engineering battalion has also constructed a Junior High School in Nifa, Trehn Statutory District and that the school is making great progress.
Nugba, who did not disclose the cost of the three projects, noted that modalities are being worked out by the county leadership to speed up development activities in anticipation of hosting the upcoming Independence Day celebration.
