Margibi Security Launches Dragnet For Drug Traffickers
By Richard D Baysah, LINA Margibi County Correspondent
KAKATA, March 9 (LINA) – Authorities of the Margibi County Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Liberia National Police (LNP) have launched a vigorous search for drug traffickers to curtail widespread sale and use of illicit drugs in the county.
In an interview with the Liberia News Agency in Kakata Sunday, commanders Augustine Leo Warri of DEA and Ralph Gooding of the LNP said illicit drug use was becoming serious and needed urgent action to stop the practice.
They said it was appalling that the children’s playground, which should serve as a source of recreation for the young, was being used by adults to sell and consume alcohol and other unwholesome substances in the presence of the kids.
The two security bosses disclosed that strict measures have been put into place to restrict the movement of people at the Playground, and urged the public to support the new measures intended to track and indict drug traffickers and users.
The Children’s Playground, which is located in Sackie Gbormo Town in Kakata, was constructed by former Margibi Senator Clarice Jah with funding from ‘Kids Around the World’, a non-governmental organization based in the United States.
