LTP Slates National Convention For March

MONROVIA, Feb 7 (LINA) – The political leader of the Liberia Transformation Party (LTP), Rev. Kennedy Sandy, has disclosed that that the party will hold its national convention early next month.
Speaking to the Liberia News Agency via mobile phone, Rev. Sandy said the LTP is a peaceful and responsible party that does not believe in making unnecessary noise.
He said executives of the party are exerting every effort to put their house in order.
The LTP official made the statement in apparent reaction to comments made by the party’s mobilization chairman, Mr. Richard Holder, who earlier claimed that since the 2011 general and presidential elections, in which their party came fifth, the standard bearer and other executives have failed to move the party forward.
Mr. Holder, in an interview with LINA Wednesday, said the party continues to die slowly and that the executive committee and political leader were doing nothing to salvage the institution from decline.
He said some partisans had written the executives on several occasions, but that the Executive Committee has remained silent, noting they are “taking the party to its grave”.
Meanwhile, Holder has said some partisans have asked the LTP leadership to step down and threatened that failure to comply within 10 days will leave them with no other option but to take legal action.
