KAKATA, March 8 (LINA) - The Superintendent of Margibi County, John Buway, has called for collaboration between government ministries and agencies to succeed in the decentralization program launched by government last month.
Buway made the statement at the administrative building in Kakata, Margibi County during the monthly coordination meetings with government ministries, agencies and commissions Friday.
According to the superintendent, the program’s intent is to bring public service delivery closer to the people of every locale in the counties, adding that the only way to achieve this goal is through coordination and collaboration.
Buway said now that the fight to eradicate the Ebola virus in the country is gaining momentum, governance is now the focal point of government, and so the pillar meetings of the line government institutions are resumed.
He said the timeline of the decentralization policy shows that it begins April 1, 2015.
Buway indicated there will be challenges in the implementation of the policy, but expressed confidence it would succeed.
The meeting brought together all heads of various Line Ministries, Agencies and Commissions operating in Margibi County.
