Nimba CHO Wants ETUs Revamped

By Wellington G. Patrick, LINA Nimba  County Correspondent

SANNIQUELLIE, February 26 (LINA) – Nimba County Health Officer (CHO) Dr. Collins Boah has called on authorities to revamp Ebola Treatment Units (ETUs) across the county to ensure that they are prepared to combat future outbreaks of the virus.

“Studies surrounding the virus have proven possible recurrence of the epidemic as experienced by the Ugandans in 2000, 2001, 2007 and 2011”, Dr. Boah noted.

He made the statement recently when he briefed delegates at the County Council Sitting at the Tubman Hall in Sanniquellie.

He observed that the virus can be completely eradicated from the county and the country by ensuring that the testing centers and treatment units are equipped and nurses and doctors fully-trained and capacitated.

Boah added that though Ebola is subsiding, Liberians must try as much as possible to remain vigilant in the Ebola fight and called on citizens of the county to apply the Ebola preventive measures laid down by the Ministry of Health.
