C.H. Rennie Hospital Closed Over Threats
KAKATA, February 21 (LINA) – Authorities at the C.H. Rennie Memorial Hospital in Kakata, Margibi County have closed the facility due to continuous threats against health workers by the public.
The Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Kumblyte Johnson, made the disclosure in an interview with the Liberia News Agency following the closure of the hospital Friday morning.
Dr. Johnson indicated that in less than 48 hours two patients taken to the hospital died on arrival, sparking “a very violent approach to the security at the main entrance of the hospital.”
She said the situation led nurses and other health workers on duty to flee the hospital for safety, abandoning patients at the hospital.
Meanwhile, the police has deployed on the compound of the hospital to deter any violent act.
