Associate Justice Calls for United Front in Rebuilding Judiciary

By Richard Stephens

GBARNGA, Feb 6 (LINA) -Supreme Court Associate Justice Jamesetta Wolokollie has called for united efforts in rebuilding the judiciary and justice system of Liberia.

She lauded the international community, especially the UN Mission in Liberia (UNMIL), for initiating the Security Hub program as UNMIL prepares to draw down.

Justice Wolokollie observed that Liberia needs the international community to achieve its development agenda.

Justice Wolokollie also noted that development in Third World countries requires assistance from developed nations and stressed the need for Liberians to be realistic in setting a timeline to achieve their development.

The Supreme Court Justice spoke Wednesday at the end of a two-day Lesson Learnt Workshop on services and construction of infrastructure of the Justice and

Security Joint Hub program held in Gbarnga, Bong County.

The Hub program is the security program set up in five regions of the country to replace the UN Mission in Liberia as it draws down.

It is also meant to identify lessons learned from service delivery and the construction of infrastructure through the Gbarnga Hub program, and utilize them to implement services and the construction of buildings for the Zwedru and Harper Hubs.

The Gbarnga Hub which is Hub 1, will cater to Bong, Nimba as well as Lofa Counties, while, Hub 2 in Zwedru, will cover Grand Gedeh and Sinoe Counties, and Hub 3 in Harper city will cover Maryland, Grand Kru and River Gee Counties.

Others also include Hub 4 to be constructed in Bomi city which will cover Bomi, Gbarpolu and Cape Mount Counties while; Hub 5 in Buchanan city will cater for Rivercess, Margibi and Grand Bassa Counties.
