Pres. Sirleaf Eulogizes Prominent Liberians

MONROVIA, January 27 (LINA) - President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has paid tribute to prominent Liberians who died in 2014 for their invaluable services to the state and humanity.
The Liberian leader remembered more than 15 Liberians when she delivered her annual message to the 53rd National Legislature at the Capitol Building in Monrovia on Monday in fulfillment of Article 58 of the Liberian Constitution.
Prominent amongst those she extolled were former Transitional Government Chairmen Charles Gyude Bryant and Bismarck Kuyon and Reverend Father Boniface Nyem Dalieh, Bishop Emeritus of the Catholic Diocese of Cape Palmas.
Others are Archbishop Dr. Williams Nah Dixon, former President for the Liberia Council of Churches, Willis D. Knuckles, former Minister of Public Works and Minster of State for Presidential Affairs and John F. Whitfield, former Senator of Grand Bassa County.
Others remembered by the Liberian leader are Scott G. Toweh, former Minister of Agriculture, Ambassador Thomas N. Brima Sr., Liberia’s Ambassador to Sierra Leone and Cllr. J.D. Baryogar Junius, former Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Liberia.
President Sirleaf also named Alhaji Ansumana F. Kromah, former Commissioner of the National Elections Commission, Dr. S. Jabaru Carlon, Commissioner of the Governance Commission, Mrs. Marie Liegh Parker, former Vice President of National Oil Company of Liberia and Mother Kou Suah Korkpor, former renowned Traditional Midwife of Nimba County.
