SANNIQUELLIE, January 20 (LINA) -The Special Emergency Activities to Restore Children’s Hope (SEARCH) has launched an Ebola Community Action Platform (ECAP) in four Administrative Districts in Nimba County.
The four districts are Bain Garr, Sanniquellie Mah, Yarmehn and Yarwin Mehnslon.
SEARCH is working in collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA).
Presenting the project to stakeholders, ECAP project manager E. Tim Tamboakai said the platform will recruit, train and assign over 50 communicators to carry out massive awareness and community engagement on the Ebola virus.
Tamboakai said the campaign will be carried out in towns bordering Guinea and parts of Nimba for three months.
The launch, which was held at the Ministry of Gender’s local office in Sanniquellie, brought together chiefs, youths, county officials, religious leaders, representatives of the County Health Team and the County Ebola Task Force.
Paul Karnue, spokesperson of the County Ebola Task Force who represented the Superintendent, thanked SEARCH for the engagement and pledged the county’s support to the “worthy cause”.
