By Korboi K. Gbelewala, LINA Lofa County Correspondent
VOINJAMA, January 16 (LINA) - Citizens of Bondi Clan, Voinjama District in Lofa County have begun constructing a three-classroom annex to the Tellewoyan Elementary and Junior High School in the district.
Duogomai, John Town, Lofa-da and Kortee-ta raised L$36,765 to construct the annex and pledged to provide local materials such as round poles, sand and crushed rocks as well as food and manpower for the construction.
Duogomai Town Chief Woiyea Kollie told the Liberia News Agency Thursday in John Town that the self-help project is the citizens’ way of buttressing government free and compulsory primary education program.
Kollie noted that the annex is intended to provide accommodation for the growing student population at school.
The Tellewoyan Elementary and Junior High School, the only junior high school in the clan, has five classrooms that are unable to accommodate the over 375 students at the school.
