ROBERTSPORT, January 15 (LINA) – The Sustainable Livelihood Promoter Program (SLPP) in Garwula District, Grand Cape Mount County, has certificated over 70 persons it trained in Ebola prevention.
SLPP Project Officer Joseph Benoit said the individuals were certificated following a week-long Ebola Prevention and Awareness Education and Training workshop aimed at helping to curtail further spread of the Ebola virus.
The SLPP official told the Liberia News Agency in the district Tuesday that the workshop covered Contract Tracing, Case Management, Counseling and Dissemination of Ebola Prevention Messages.
According to him, the training workshop is a result of the continuous outbreak of the virus in the county which has claimed the attention of his organization.
He attributed the frequent outbreak in the county to denial, secret burial and bathing of dead bodies, and called on those involved in such acts to immediately desist in the best interest of the county.
Benoit disclosed that the trainees will be deployed in towns and villages in the county, especially those on the border with Sierra Leone.
