Senator Weah Calls On CDC Partisans To Be Responsible

By Richard Stephens/LINA

MONROVIA, January 15 (LINA)-Montserrado County Senator and political leader of the opposition Congress of Democratic Change (CDC), Ambassador George Manneh Weah, has challenged CDC partisans to exhibit a high level of maturity and responsibility as the party enters a new age in politics.

He said to be part of the greater future the CDC must be a responsible political organization that Liberians would rely on to build their future.

The Montserrado County Senator proffered the challenge Wednesday when he officially launched the Fifth National Congress of the CDC in the Montserrado County capital Bensonville City. The three-day congress which opened on Wednesday, January 14, ends on Friday, Januarthey 16 with the election of  party officers.

He encouraged all members of the CDC who have defected to return to the party saying, “it is about time that all members reconcile their differences and join hands to build the party for 2017.”

Meanwhile, Ambassador Weah has paid tribute to members of the party who fell prey to the deadly Ebola virus, and pledged the party’s willingness  to continue to collaborate with other relevant organizations to ensure that Liberia becomes an Ebola-free nation.

At the same time, Weah has expressed gratitude to residents of Montserrado County for electing him to the Senate and urged them to unite efforts in helping to move the county forward.

The CDC hold a national congress every two years to discuss rules and policies of the party and fill existing vacancies within the party’s leadership.
