Plan Official Outlines Programs Across Liberia

TUBMANBURG, Feb 4 (LINA) - The Acting Program Manager of Plan Liberia Bomi Program Unit, Mr. Alpha Kabba, has said that the organization is engaged in health, education, sanitation and training in Bomi, Gbarpolu and other counties in Liberia.
Kabba said Plan Liberia mainly caters for children in the country to ensure that they live healthy and productive lives.
He told the Liberia News Agency Tuesday in Tubmanburg that the Non-Governmental Organization has built 11 schools in Bomi County and seven others in Gbarpolu County.
Kabba said Plan Liberia also provided all the furniture, including blackboards, chairs, benches and tables for the schools.
He disclosed that funding for the projects was provided by the Norway National Office in Norway and donors from other parts of the world.
Kabba said all schools constructed by Plan Liberia are fully equipped with libraries, kitchens, cafeteria, latrines and wells for use by students.
He said Plan Liberia has sent the names of 5,250 Liberian children to Europe and other countries for sponsorship by individuals and organizations.
He said of this number 3,500 of them have been accepted for sponsorship by the organizations and individuals.
Beneficiaries are sponsored through their parents, Kabba said.
