MONROVIA, January 13 (LINA)-The first Session of the House of Representatives following its annual break was on Monday characterized by confusion leading to is disruption by some Lawmakers.

The  fracas began when some  aggrieved lawmakers demanded that Speaker J. Alexander Tyler make a letter which was sent him an agenda item  for discussion, something Tyler and other lawmakers rejected.

Some lawmakers were heard shouting and calling on the Speaker to recuse himself from presiding over sessions until the completion of  the corruption investigation being carried out by the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) involving him and Representative Adolph A. Lawrence.

It can be recalled that the Chairperson of LACC told the MICAT Regular Press Briefing on October 23, 2014 that the Speaker and Representative Adolph A. Lawrence are being investigated for allegedly tampering with money provided by the National Oil Company of Liberia (NOCAL) to the House to help facilitate the Nationwide Oil Consultation Meetings held in 2013.

When the confusion intensified, the Speaker walked away from the Chambers, thereby prematurely ending the session.
